Asbury Park is a small town by the sea

In the year 1871, Asbury Park was established as a beach resort, complete with a bustling boardwalk, luxurious hotels, and stately Victorian homes. However, once the Garden State Parkway was built in 1947, Asbury Park slowly sank into decay and lost its popularity. The town was plagued by racially-motivated riots and a corrupt local government. However, as a result of its popularity, aspiring artists and musicians moved to the area, including a young Bruce Springsteen who made his name playing in seedy bars along the boardwalk.

This dog beach is located on 8th Avenue, right near the Convention Hall. The beach is closed to human visitors during the peak beach season, which runs from May to September.
